Work Permit For Students

There are various countries that allow foreigner students to seek a work permit after completion of education and these include the UK, Canada, Europe and Australia. The criteria for this permission is not the same in all these countries, except for one common factor i.e. having completed the proposed qualification.

Study to Work in the UK

The UK has resumed its "Post-Study Work Permit" from this year which will allow foreigner students to stay in the UK for upto 2 years (after completion of their UK Degree Program) to find work. Such students will be called "Post Study Work Permit Holder" and not only themselves but also their dependent families will have the opportunity to stay with them in the UK for the above period of time.

Study to Work in Canada

An 8 months or longer study program completed at a Designated Learning Institution in Canada can make the student eligible for a temporary work permit. The length of the program quite matters in this case because those seeking a work permit for the longer period are also supposed to have completed a longer period (or higher levelled) Degree. Generally, Diplomas and Degree Programs completed at University level easily qualify for work permit applications but this may vary from case to case basis.

Study to Work in Europe

The university graduates of Germany have an opportunity to find work and work permission through BLUE CARD which is a temporary residence and work permit for international students. This Blue Card helps qualified foreign nationals to migrate to or remain in Germany permanently. It therefore also helps to make the German labor market more attractive for qualified workers as well as reducing the growing shortage of skilled workers.

Study to work in Australia

Just like Canada, there are many study options in Australia also which lead to a work permit. However, the criteria for this eligibility in Australia is much more different and much stricter than Canada or other countries. Interested students therefore need an in-depth and thorough assessment of their eligibility before considering a course and its future benefit to work through in Australia.
